Hand trucks are the most common items, suitable for the needs of factories, enterprises and even household usage. The most important part of the hand truck can be said to be the 4 caters. However, consumers often do not care much about the structure and function, let alone the periodic maintenance of the caster. It is only when there is a problem that people notice that the caster underneath seemingly small but very important part.
When buying replacement caters then matter of appearance, color: not so important, you can choose similarity. But there are a few points you need to pay attention to:
Height
The replacement caster should preferably be the same height as the wheels in use. If the difference is only a few millimeters, then:
- Replace 2 casters on the same side and accept small slope of the platform.
- Add or remove a few washers to ensure the height of the 4 casters is equal.
Load capacity & Wheel tread material
Just pick the same of what you are using.
Install the caster to the platform
There are 2 main forms:
Plate type: Welding or screwing, bots and nuts thanks to 4 pre-drilled holes.
Threaded stem: Attaches to the platform by means of threaded screw with nut or thread depth.

1. Welded plate: there is nothing to for you to do.
b. Bolts and nuts system: you'll have to check the hole spacing and hole diamter of the old and the new are uniform. Otherwise you will have to spend more time to drill holes or just weld the plate of the new caster to the platform.
Technical specs of a caster plate::
- A x a – Hole spacing: from the center of one hole to another. That form a square or rectangle.
- C x c – Plate size: the outer size of the plate (square or rectangle).
- D – Hole diameter: round or oval
Note: Plate of the Swivel type and Rigid type of one Series can be different.
2. Threaded stem type:
Let's measure:
- Lace step: is the coarse (standard) or fine. In Vietnam, 95% is coarse thread.
- M size: M6, M8, M10, M12, M16
- Threaded length: 15mm, 20mm, 25mm, 35mm
